Golf in the Tropics

Enjoy Golf in the Tropics! No world class destination is complete without challenging golf courses and we have everything the most ardent golfer needs for an absorbing and enjoyable round or two for a total golf indulgence with accommodation beside one of the world’s best resort courses.

One of these is the Palmer Sea Reef Golf Course in Port Douglas, a tropical links-style course designed by famous golf-course architect Michael Wolveridge who, with his partners, has designed many of the world’s greatest courses and has made Far North Tropical Queensland his home.

The Palmer Sea Reef course has many tricky features synonymous with the links style including hidden hollows, dunes and the added challenge of unpredictable coastal breezes. The Mirage Country Club is an 18-hole championship course also in a coastal setting.

Near Mossman you will quickly become addicted to the friendly Mossman Golf Club’s 18-hole public course on the Daintree/Cape Tribulation Road. Backed by spectacular mountains cover in lush rainforest, the course is just the place to enjoy a game and the awareness of the tropical setting.

Wherever you play you will be surrounded by the stunning scenery and sights and sounds of the tropics and there are many more courses closer to Cairns. The historic Cairns Golf Club dates from 1923 and is an 18-hole course which has been re-designed by Ross Watson and is a par 72 for men and par 73 for women.

Whether you are a professional, enthusiastic amateur or wish to learn, the friendly tropics will provide a memorable golfing experience and, of course, clubs are available for hire if you do not travel with your own.
